Situated on the banks of the beautiful River Ant, one of the northern rivers of the
Norfolk Broads, The Granaries self-catering holiday accommodation is a superb base,

passing boat traffic, or go further afield and explore the Broads and the other

Each unit is furnished to a high standard, with DVD, video player, dishwasher,
microwave, hair dryer, iron/ironing board.
A laundry room with coin-operated machines is available for guests' use. Bedding sets

Boat Hire.
Based at Wayford Bridge on the River Ant; collect your comfortable, weather-proof launch
and slowly travel off (confident in your ability to handle your craft as we spend as long
on your instruction as you require), past the beautiful Hunsett Mill, beloved by
photographers, towards Barton Broad, reputed location of Horatio Nelson's earliest
nautical experiences. If you wish, leave the main river and visit Stalham, Sutton or
Neatishead - all have their appeal. For longer excursions, Ranworth Broad, Horning or
Potter Heigham are all within reach during a day's hire.
Enjoy the wildlife - herons, kingfishers, grebes. Bring bread and feel like an aquatic
Pied Piper as, instead of rats, the ducks, geese, moorhens, coots, swans and other
water-fowl follow in your trail - but be warned, not all the prospective diners are native
to the Broads. Take heed of the various Broads Authority information notices regarding
which birds should not be fed!
Launches may be hired for periods of two hours upwards. Prices, which start from as
little as £8 an hour, include maps, lifejackets, fuel, insurance and VAT. Free car
parking is available. Dogs welcome on most launches - kept on a lead whilst at the
boatyard please. Booking is recommended!
Canadian canoes and kayaks are also available - we will give instruction and make sure
your compulsory life jacket is fitted correctly. This is the best way to enjoy the quieter
canals and streams close to the boatyard. |
